Albéric Clément
Albéric Clément (c. 1165 – 1191) was the first marshal of France under Philip Augustus, appointed to that position in 1185.〔Shari Beck ''A Portrait in Black and White: Diane de Poitiers in Her Own Words'' 2011- Page 89 " Philippe II Auguste created the office of Marescallus Franciae for Albéric Clément in 1190. The title was abolished by the National Convention in 1793 and restored during the First French Empire when Napoleon I became Marshal〕 Alberic was the lord of Mez cave in the Gâtinais. He accompanied Philip on the Third Crusade but died at Acre on July 3, 1191.
